I recently visited the Alaska Walking Store and had a great experience thanks to the manager Jerry. He really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. His customer service skills were top-notch and I felt like I was in good hands. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for quality footwear and excellent service.

I thought for years that this was just a basic bargain shoe store and then as I even got a little older I thought maybe it’s just for elderly people or people with orthotics. But I went down for a friend tagging along and was just window shopping and I was very surprised. They had UGGs Keans Columbia you name it they got all the brands they’re such good quality yes it is more expensive so be prepared but you are going to get a great quality shoe that’s gonna last years

Came in today to get a pair of Hokas and the guy who helped me was awesome! Didn’t catch his name but he had dark curly hair and said he was part Greek. He was super helpful and great to chat with!

Troy and the young lady who assisted me were attentive and very nice. Troy went above and beyond to help me find the size and type of shoe I needed. He's very knowledgeable about the products and features of a work shoe. The pair I wanted was not available but he was able to recommend another pair that is so far one of the most comfortable pairs I've worn in a long time! I'll be back for sure!

The customer service here is excellent. The associate Jason was personable and knowledgeable in his shoe recommendations; unfortunately, after bringing the shoe home and trying it out (Dansko slip resistant kitchen shoe) it did not perform to standard. The shoe was not in resell-able condition, and manager Troy went to bat for me with Dansko to be able to issue a refund for a defective product. The associates here are really exceptional and I’m extremely grateful for the assistance I received.

I went in earlier and the assistant manager Jason was super friendly and helpful. Also made laugh and gave stickers. Great time 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I had a great experience at The Walking Store thanks to Thomas. He was very knowledgeable, well-dressed, and attentive, and made sure I found the perfect pair of shoes. Love these folks!! Family owned, best customer service!! In the busiest time right before Christmas I found the perfect gift for my wife!! Problem, her size was sold out. Troy found it and got it delivered in the store the next day. Knowing my wife was coming to the mall the next day and I was working I asked if she could pick it up. But could they double bag it so she doesn’t know what it is!!! This is what we received: Super kind for them to wrap it after hours and at home. That’s the kinda stuff that earns a customer for life!!!

As an airline crew member, I consistently visit the downtown store during layovers and appreciate the staff's friendly, informative, and consistently exceptional service year after year. The prices are very reasonable, and the welcoming environment created by the staff is outstanding. Until today, I was unaware that it was a family-owned business, which further solidifies my desire to support it. This business is definitely worth visiting.

I had a wonderful experience at Alaska Walking Store, thanks to Jacob. He helped me with everything from start to finish and was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and attentive. Jacob took the time to make sure I found exactly what I needed and that everything fit comfortably. Outstanding customer service—highly recommend both the store and Jacob!
